History

The Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis are two different dog breeds known as Welsh Corgis. Originating in Wales, they are known as one of the oldest herding breeds. Corgis were originally used as farm dogs, herding and guarding cattle. This working dog makes them extremely protective and contributed to their trait of biting at the heels of their owners. The breed is adored by the Queen of England, who has cared for more than 30 corgis. Currently, she has two corgis, Willow and Holly, who appeared in the opening ceremony of the London Olympics when her majesty was escorted by Daniel Craig.
